  • Fraudulent Use

    In the event of fraudulent use of your Student Travelcard (STC) or other breach in its terms and conditions of use, including a breach of the Leap Card Terms and Conditions, STC and/or the National Transport Authority (NTA) reserves the right to release your details to the appropriate carrier or authority.

  • You must present your Student Travelcard at time of purchasing a Student Travel ticket

    You must present your Student Travelcard at time of purchasing a Student Travel ticket in order to be entitled to discounted travel. All tickets are issued subject to the bye laws applicable to Dublin Bus, LUAS, Iarnrod Eireann and other carriers.
  • Inspection

    You must have your Student Travelcard available for inspection when travelling on a discounted student ticket.
  • Confiscation

    Iarnród Éireann, LUAS, Dublin Bus and other carriers may confiscate the card in the case of misuse. In the case of confiscation, the cardholders name may be placed on a stoplist and a new card may not be issued for six months following confiscation and you will not receive a refund of any remaining Travel Credit. If the card is lost or stolen a new application must be made along with full payment.  Student Travelcard operates a strict policy whereby no refunds will be made in respect of any overpayments for the Student Travelcard.

  • Who's Eligible

    The Student Travelcard is only available to 2nd and 3rd level students enrolled in full time education. Every September a new card is issued we change the colour of the card every year to ensure there is no fraud in our system. If you purchase the card in September 2012 it will expire in December 2013.  The expiry date is printed on the card. Upon renewal any Travel Credit on an expiring Student Travelcard will be transferred to the new Student Travelcard.

  • Postal applications

    The application form must bear the Authorised Stamp and be signed by an Authorised Offcial of your University, College or School. Enclose 2 passport sized photographs of yourself. You must print your name on the reverse of each photograph. One photograph must be glued to the application form at PHOTO A. The other photograph must be glued to the application form at PHOTO B. PHOTO B must be over stamped with your official college/school stamp by an official college/school representative. The Student Travelcard is strictly non transferable.
  • Incorrectly completed forms

    If your application form is incorrectly completed it will be rejected and returned to you. An administration fee of €5 will be levied to cover additional costs incurred to process incorrect and incomplete forms.
  • Not liable

    Dublin Bus, Iarnrod Eireann, LUAS or Student TravelCard will not be liable for any Application Form, Rejection Letter or Student Travelcard lost, delayed or damaged in the post or for the removal of or change to any third party or partner offers to card holders.

  • No refunds

    No refunds will be made in respect of tickets purchased prior to receiving the Student Travelcard.  Refund of Travel Credit on Student Travelcards is subject to the Leap Card terms and conditions set out at www.leapcard.ie.  Student Travelcard operates a strict policy whereby no refunds will be made in respect of any overpayments for the Student Travelcard.

  • Student Travelcard (STC) is a personalised Leap Card

    The Student Travelcard (STC) is a personalised Leap Card. By obtaining a Student Travelcard you agree to and acknowledge that STC will pass the personal data provided to the National Transport Authority (NTA).

  • How to use your Student Travelcard

    Student Travelcard users have two means of using the card to pay for public transport:

    You can use your Student Travelcard as a Leap Card for travel on Dublin Bus, Luas, DART and Commuter Rail in the Short Hop Zone. To do this you need to load your Student Travelcard with Travel Credit at a Leap Card shop. The Terms and Conditions and fares applying to use of the Student Travelcard as a Leap Card are set out at www.leapcard.ie;

    AND/OR

    You can use your Student Travelcard as an ID to buy tickets at discounted student fares. You must present your Student Travelcard at the time of purchase in order to avail of the discounted fares. All tickets are issued subject to the Bye-Laws applicable to Dublin Bus, LUAS and Iarnród Éireann and any other carrier. When using your Student Travelcard as an ID in conjunction with a student ticket you do not need to “Touch-On” your Student Travelcard. If you “Touch-On” you will be charged. You must have your Student Travelcard available for inspection when travelling on a discounted student ticket.
